WACA have brought InteractSport on board as the Official Streaming Partner of the Alcohol.Think Again Premier Cricket competition for the next two seasons, providing their automated streaming solution FrogBox to clubs in the State’s Premier cricket competition.
Several Premier clubs in the West have already confirmed their participation in the initiative by purchasing their streaming kits. All broadcasts with the FrogBox technology will be available in the centralised WACA match centre, containing all the Premier cricket fixtures, ladders, statistics and match highlights.
WACA’s Competitions and Operations Manager Luke Douglas said the partnership will give WA players a platform to showcase their talents to a wider audience.
“We found that FrogBox really was an easy solution for our club volunteers to manage on match day. We want to continue to promote the quality of cricket in WA, and partnering with InteractSport on this initiative is an important part of our vision.”
“The fact so many clubs are already committed to the initiative shows there is a real appetite to change the match day experience within cricket and make live streams with highlights the norm for the sport.”
The announcement comes after Cricket Tasmania revealed InteractSport as their Official Streaming Partner last week, and both organisations join Cricket Queensland and NT Cricket in livestreaming their match days using FrogBox.
Rob Knee, Chief Operating Officer from InteractSport, said the partnerships this year have been an excellent indicator of the appetite for innovation in cricket, and the desire of the community to engage with their favourite sport.
“We’re are excited to partner with forward thinking administrators and organisations like the Western Australian Cricket Association and their Premier clubs. Through the FrogBox product, we can work together to reimagine the match day experience for cricket in Australia and beyond.”
