The Japan Cricket Association (JCA) and Australian sports digital software company InteractSport have teamed up to showcase the Japan Premier League later this week and the Embassy Cup in September. The partnership will see both organisations collaborate to elevate the match day experience for the competing teams and their fans.
Through InteractSport’s provision of a dedicated match centre and streaming services, powered by their automated video technology and world leading electronic scoring app, the JCA will be able to broadcast to a global audience without the costs of traditional broadcasting.
While the current global pandemic makes a full scale production challenging, InteractSport’s digital suite empowers the small and passionate team at JCA to capture the vision from a fixed position whilst live scoring onsite, ensuring new and existing fans of cricket in Japan will still be able to enjoy the action live.
The added value for JCA is the match centre, which will create a one-stop digital destination for fans to access live scores, schedules, statistics. Live streams, replays and highlights from the matches will also be located here, making the new and improved match day experience easy to access and share with others.
CEO Naoki Miyaji from Japan Cricket Association is excited for the potential to grow the audience for cricket in Japan.
"We are delighted to be able to showcase the highest level of cricket in Japan to all of our fans both at home and abroad. We hope that everyone will enjoy following the matches and seeing the skills on show.
"We have long been looking for a suitable partner who can help us take our streaming products to the next level and are excited to see how this will enhance the user experience and further develop a fan base for Japanese Cricket.”
Head of Global Partnerships at InteractSport Tim Anderson welcomed the collaboration as a symbol of how economical, user friendly digital technology can add value to any level of cricket in any part of the world.
“When it comes to improving the quality and quantity of players, coaches, fans and commercial partnerships, digital engagement is now a must.
For many cricket organisations, the best way to do this is by broadcasting its competitions, and streaming them online.
Through the provision of InteractSport’s unique automated video technology, we are therefore delighted to be supporting the Japan Cricket Association and its drive to grow digitally.”
