InteractSport are proud to announce they are the Official Streaming Partner of the Cricket Tasmania Premier League and will provide their match day streaming solution FrogBox to Premier Cricket clubs over the next two seasons.
The landmark deal for Cricket Tasmania marks a new era for Premier Cricket in the state - allowing more people across the state, country and globe to access some of the best action the Apple Isle has to offer.
The partnership also includes a dedicated Match Centre, where fans can access fixtures, results, ladders and stats as well as the live streamed matches and their real time generated highlights.
Premier League Manager Eamonn Doherty from Cricket Tasmania said broadcasting Tasmania’s High Performance pathway would be beneficial to aspiring cricketers.
“Premier Cricket is an important pillar of the High Performance pathway and to be able to showcase Tasmania’s best talent (both players and match officials) will no doubt provide greater opportunities for players and officials who aspire for higher honours”
Clubs are similarly excited for the new venture, with University of Tasmania CC Cricket Operations Manager Gene Phair hailing the deal a huge success for cricket in the region, reinforcing the club’s commitment to grow the game and further engage their cricket community.
“University of Tasmania Cricket Club is excited to be one of the clubs to partner with Cricket Tasmania and InteractSport to be able live stream our club games in season 2020/21. The live streaming portal will allow many of our families and supporters to watch our players in action no matter where they are around the world. It will also double as an excellent coaching tool for our coaches and players alike.
The announcement follows Queensland Cricket confirming earlier this month they would commit to a further two seasons with InteractSport as their Official Streaming Partner after the success of last year, as well as NT Cricket broadcasting their 2020 Darwin and District Competition with FrogBox for the first time during a sport-deprived winter.
InteractSport’s Head of Global Partnerships, Tim Anderson, highlighted that this was an important step in continuing to showcase Premier cricket in Australia.
“We strongly believe that Australia has some of the best club cricket in the world and through InteractSport’s innovative technology and strong partnerships with state associations, it’s great to be able to give Premier Cricket the elevated viewing platform it deserves.
“We successfully trialed our Frogbox service at selected matches in Tasmania last season and have worked closely with Cricket Tasmania over the winter to develop a centralised approach to the streaming of its Premier League for the next two seasons. The Premier League Match Centre will be a hive of activity on match days with live streams, automated highlights and full replays available for fans, players and coaches to enjoy.”
In the first season of the partnership, seven of the ten Cricket Tasmania Premier League clubs will be utilising the platform with clubs intending to stream all club games at their home venues throughout 2020/21.
The Cricket Tasmania Premier League kicks off on October 3. Visit the Match Centre for season fixtures, match streams and scorecards, and keep up to date with via FrogBox via Facebook and Twitter.
